Mission and overview
JCTS exists to prevent isolation and provide peer understanding for trans and gender-nonconforming individuals. We strive to empower each other, share with one another, and provide a space for us to be open and communicate on an issue that affects all members. We are a safe space for people to talk about personal issues, experiences, struggles, and thoughts.
JCTS stands for "Jefferson County Transgender Support" but in reality we have folks come from all over the peninsula as well as those just visiting the area- we welcome everyone. We meet in Port Townsend and if you would like the address please just e-mail us (we do not post it to maintain the privacy and safety of our group). We are not trained or equipped to assist people who are at risk of injuring themselves or others or are in acute crisis. Please call the Trans Lifeline at 877.565.8860 if you need help. This group is open to new members at all times, but at this time is only open to trans, gender-nonconforming, and questioning individuals. A member can bring a cisgender support person/partner with them if they so choose. |
